Jigger Eradication Spreads To Nyanza PRovince

ACCES staff in Kenya implemented a GRAND de-jiggering campaign in partnership with PHYDO-Kenya (Physical and Psychosocial Development Organization) and 42 community health workers in 3 sub-locations of Bar Ndege, Konya and Umer of Ugenya (Nyanza province), treating 214 individuals, 166 households and making 5 referrals for children infected with tetanus as a result of jigger infestation. Central Nyanza is an area that is HIGHLY infested with jiggers. The Ministry of Health estimates that only 30% of infested people were reached with this campaign.
